The club hosted our year end Christmas Dinner with a difference this year, by incorporating for the first time, an auction of beautiful Dachshund memorabilia and collectibles. Many of the items auctioned off had been donated by one of our much loved former members, the late Val Bowden, of Valgarden Dachshunds, and we thank Val Lingard for donating the items to the club. The successful bidders will treasure these mementoes, many of which are collectors’ items and are limited editions. The yummy Christmas dinner was enjoyed by all, the function room at Durack was beautifully decorated giving a real festive feel to the evening. Our auctioneer, Darren Winningham, who kindly agreed to offer his services for the evening, really got the crowd going with jokes and quips and the auction was high spirited. A number of items were hotly competed for, with some fetching excellent prices. These funds will boost the clubs coffers further, ensuring that we go into 2022 with a healthy bank balance.
